From sheetfed to web print – Sandler in Austria adds a 16p press with automated post press
Sandler in Austria is one of the few printers who invested in a new web press to print commercial products. The 16p press is equipped with a magazine and a tabloid delivery and can produce signatures of different formats and paginations between 4-32p.
A new post press system includes delivery conveyors for the magazine and tabloid(A3) deliveries which are merged into one stream. Waste is automatically ejected through a central waste gate and is fully synchronized with the press. This also applies to speed following and Start/Stop/Ready signals.
A CS/3160 lift stacker builds counted and compressed bundles, with or without compensation. A straight-out delivery connects the stacker with ERIC, the mini-robot where all bundles are palletized automatically. Two palletizing positions and a simple but automatic pallet conveying (pallet in/out) allow continuous palletizing – if one pallet is fully ERIC automatically switches to the second palletizing position. Full and empty pallets are automatically fed in and out the palletizing position.
